A Compendium of Infinite Group Theory: Part 1—Countable Recognizability

چکیده
Countably recognizable group classes were introduced by Reinhold Baer and provide a very ingenious way to study large groups through the properties of their countable subgroups. This is reason we have chosen recognizability start this series survey papers on infinite theory.

s Prof. Paul Baginski Title: Definability and Nilpotence in Groups with Bounded Chains of Centralizers Abstract: A group G has bounded chains of centralizers (G is MC) if every chain of centralizers CG(A1) ≤ CG(A2) ≤ . . . is finite. While this class of groups is interesting in its own right, within the field of logic known as model theory, MC groups have been examined because they strictly con...
متن کاملAn electronic compendium of extreme functions for the Gomory-Johnson infinite group problem
In this note we announce the availability of an electronic compendium of extreme functions for Gomory–Johnson’s infinite group problem. These functions serve as the strongest cut-generating functions for integer linear optimization problems. We also close several gaps in the literature.

Exploring further the properties of ITRM -recognizable reals started in [Ca], we provide a detailed analysis of recognizable reals and their distribution in Gödels constructible universe L. In particular, we show that new unrecognizables are generated at every index γ ≥ ω ω . We give a machine-independent characterization of recognizability by proving that a real r is recognizable iff it is Σ1-...
